Fighter director Siddharth Anand responds to Pakistani actress Hania Aamir who called his movie ‘distasteful’, netizens react

New Delhi: Triggered by the trailer of Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming actioner Fighter, which was released just a few days back, renowned Pakistani artists & social media sensation Hania Aamir recently slammed the filmmakers for portraying a negative image of Pakistan in their movie.

Taking to her Twitter handle, the 26-year-old actress bashed Hrithik’s movie, penning a note that read, “So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries.”

Besides Hania, several other celebs from the neighboring country, including Adnan Siddiqui and Zara Noor Abbas, also came down heavily on Siddharth Anand’s directorial & criticized it for showing Pakistan in bad light.

Netizens Call out Hania Aamir’s hypocrisy

Meanwhile, as Hania’s objectionable remarks on the Deepika Padukone starrer’s trailer went viral on social media, Indian fans also didn’t stay quiet and quickly called out the actress by mentioning a similar Pakistani movie Parwaaz Hai Junoon (2018) that featured the Pakistani Air Force fighting off the Indian forces.

Mentioning Hania’s role in the movie, fans highlighted the actress’ hypocrisy and slammed her for criticizing Fighter despite herself being a part of an Anti-Indian film in the past.

Pointing out Hania’s role in Parwaz e Junoon, one user wrote, “Didn’t she work in a movie which was anti-India lol if Indians celebs have no issue with the anti-India stuff pak celebs do in movies and in reality why do pak celebs care so much.”

A second one trolled Hania saying, “Their actors openly make anti-India comments at least our celebs don’t do such stuff.” A third user added, “Pakistani actors are more politically influenced and tilted,”

Interestingly, other than the fans, Fighter movie’s director Siddharth Anand also reacted to Hania’s words about his film by dropping “OH” & a “thinking emoji” in the comment section of the post.

Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter is an upcoming aerial actioner that sees Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.

Besides the leading duo, the film also features several seasoned actors including Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in other supporting roles. It is set to hit the big screens under the banner Viacom 18 studios on 25 January 2024.
