Flashback 2007: When Katrina Kaif felt that her film career was over post Namastey London

The actress thought that the film was going to be a disaster and had even thought about looking for an alternative career.

New Delhi: Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif is celebrating her 38th birthday today. The leading actress of Bollywood has been a part of many big-budget stories in the industries with bumper box office collections.

However, her debut in the 2003 film Boom was not much of a success and her performance in the film went unnoticed.

The actress had opened up about the second film offered to her after Boom in Karan Johar’s show Coffee with Karan. Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah had offered her a role in his film Namaste London opposite Akshay Kumar. As per Katrina, Shah had shown her the film after the post-production was completed. The actress thought that the film was going to be a disaster and had even thought about looking for an alternative career.

Katrina mulled ‘quitting’ Bollywood but Namastey London became super-duper hit

Despite Katrina’s assumption of ‘Namaste London’, the film turned out to be a major success and was applauded by both critics and audiences. The reason that Katrina gave for her assumption about the film was that she wasn’t ‘used to see too much of her on the screen’ and thought that the viewers might find it strange. The film not only performed well at the box-office but also gained her recognition in the industry.

The actress later worked in big-budget movies like Welcome, Zindagi na Milegi Dobara, Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahani, Dhoom 3, and Ek tha Tiger. Kaif will next be seen in Sooryavanshi and Phone Bhoot.
