“Focus on your acting instead of bullying”: Arjun Kapoor’s remarks on boycott trends draws ire from BJP minister

Narottam Mishra described Arjun Kapoor as a flop actor and said that instead of threatening the public, he should focus on his acting

New Delhi: Calls for boycott against Bollywood films and actors remain in trend on social media every now and then. Aamir Khan’s recent release Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan fell prey to this boycott trend.

Both the films have not been able to extract their budget even after seven days of their release in theatres. Now, many film stars and critics are reacting to the ‘Bollywood boycott’ trend, somewhat unsure about the fate of their own films.

Recently, actor Arjun Kapoor made a statement during an interview wherein he said that it is our biggest mistake as a industry that we are silent on this issue. He further said that people are taking negative advantage of this. “I think we assumed that our work will speak”, he added.

Kapoor said that there should be strong action against people calling for a boycott against the films or an actor.

After being under fire from the irk of Netizens, now Madhya Pradesh minister Narottam Mishra have slammed him over his remarks.

Narottam Mishra described Arjun Kapoor as a flop actor and said that instead of threatening the public, he should focus on his acting.

Mishra reacted after being questioned about Kapoor’s statement at a press conference on Wednesday. He further said, “Now I do not consider it good that any flop actor threatens the public. If instead of threatening the public, he concentrates on his acting, then I think it would be better for him.”

Mishra did not stop here and asked the actor via media, “And I have a question to him, does he or those who are supporters of tukde tukde wales, have the courage to make a film on some other religion, and speak derogatory words for religion, and humiliate the deities of religion?”

“You do this with Sanatani people only, and then you threaten the public on calling for a Boycott. Wait you too Arjun ji. Now the public is aware”, he added.
