Numerous movies starring megastars have been served to us throughout the Covid times. With the commencement of 2022, Bollywood will be giving us some jaw-dropping movies featuring some of our favourite actors. Let’s have a look at five OTT movies to watch out in 2022:

1. Chakda ‘Xpress 

With this sports drama, Anushka Sharma will be making her OTT debut. The movie will revolve around the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The actress will wear the prestigious uniform of one of the fastest female pacers in the world. Anushka Sharma promised that the movie will be “an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket.” The movie will premiere on Netflix, however, the date has not been revealed.

2. Monica, O My God

Directed by Vasan Bala, the movie is a perfect mix of crime and comedy along with a lot of drama. The movie narrates the journey of a young man who along with some unlikely partners and a creep plan tries to pull off a murder. Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte, and Sikander Kher will play the lead in the movie. The movie will stream on Netflix. The date has not been revealed yet.

3. Looop Lapeta

The movie stars Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The movie is the Hindi remake of the German movie ‘Run Lola Run’ (1998). The movie is full of thrill and entertainment. The story narrates how Savi (Taapsee) tries to save her ‘useless boyfriend.’ The movie will release on February 4 on Netflix.

4. Gehraiyaan

Shakun Batra’s directorial Gehraiyaan is a story of romance and relationships, about emotions and love. The relationship drama dives deep into the “depths of complex modern relationships, adulting, letting go and taking control of one’s life path.” The movie will stream on Amazon Prime and will release on February 11.

5. Khufiya

Khufiya is a spy thriller based on true events. The movie is adapted from the espionage novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’ by Amar Bhushan and narrates the journey of Krishna Mehra, a RAW operative who is assigned to track down the mole selling India’s defence secrets. Mehra plays with her dual identity that of a lover and spy. The movie stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ashish Vidyarthi and is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
