New Delhi: The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher & Pallavi Joshi in lead roles, started off on a silent note but has now a become a national talking point. The movie is getting big appreciation and applause from audience and is being widely talked about in public, despite big Bollywood platforms washing their hands off the movie.

The movie has also found strong resonance in BJP ruled states, where the state governments have come out in support of the movie. From Assam to Madhya Pradesh, the state governments are encouraging their employees to watch the movie.

In Madhya Pradesh, Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters that instructions have been issued to DGP to grant one-day leave to policemen so that they watch movie with their family.

“I have just told the DGP to grant a leave whenever any policeman in the state wants to go watch ‘The Kashmir Files’ with their family,” Mr Mishra told reporters.

Assam CM watches Kashmir Files with cabinet

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to announce that govt employees will be granted half-day leave for watching the movie and for this they only need to inform their senior officers and submit tickets the next day.


“Our Govt employees will be entitled for half-day special leave to watch #TheKashmirFiles. They will have to only inform their superior officers,” Assam CM said.


Yesterday, the Assam CM also watched the movie at a theatre in Guwahati along with his entire cabinet. After watching the movie, he said that the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits was a blot on humanity.
