New Delhi: September 28 saw a huge clash at the Box office when two eagerly awaited movies The Vaccine War and Fkurey 3 collided head-on with each other on the big screens. Which of the two films emerged victorious in this battle of BO domination and supremacy? Let’s find out right away
Fukrey 3’s Day 1 Collection
The third instalment of Excel Entertainment’s super hit Desi comedy Fukrey started roaring at the ticket window right from its opening day. Although the film did fall short of minting money in double digits, it still managed to garner an impressive collection of Rs 8.6 crore to kick start its Box Office Journey on a high note.
Despite facing tough competition from Vivek Agnihotri’s movie, the hysterical story of 4 misfits East-Delhi boys managed to pull in a decent crowd into the theatres for the third time and recorded a solid occupancy of 22.13 per cent on Thursday. The movie’s day 1 collections were further boosted by the partial Holiday of Milad ul Nabi and Ganesha Visarjana in the country.
Now, after getting an impressive start at the BO, the Jaw-aching comedy flick will be aiming for a solid first weekend where it is expected to record even better daily collections that might as well go into double digits.
About the movie
Helmed by director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, Fukrey 3 is the third instalment of blockbuster comedy flick Fukrey which was released in theaters back in 2013. Its story sees the Fukra gang pitted once more time against their arch-rival Bholi Punjaban, this time in a battle of Election.
The film’s cast features talented actors Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles. It is produced by Farhan Akhtar under the banner of his own production house Excel Entertainment
The Vaccine War Day 1 Collection
Speaking of Fukrey 3’s competitor The Vaccine War, the film, despite receiving appreciation from the critics encountered a slow and sluggish start at the Box office on opening day.
The movie’s Day 1 collection was heavily adversely affected by its clash with Fukrey 3 and despite its subject being inspired by a topic of global interest, the movie was only able to do a business of ₹ 1.3 crores at the BO. Unlike Vivek’s previously released blockbuster The Kashmir Files, The Vaccine War failed to pull the crowd into the theatres and saw a disappointing Occupancy of 10.17 per cent on its opening day.
Now it will be interesting to see if the Anupam Kher Starrer will be able to pick up its pace and Perform better at the Box Office in the coming weekend or it will end its theoretical run as a sorry business.

Helmed by talented director Vivek Agnihotri, The Vaccine War is a tribute to the forgotten heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic who worked on the front line without caring much about their lives and faced tough challenges during the Coronavirus Vaccine development.
Besides that, the film also attempts to throw light on the cutthroat race between various medical institutions for creating the vaccine for COVID-19. In its star-studded cast, The Vaccine War features Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, and Sapthami in important roles.
