Gadar 2 Vs OMG 2: Sunny Deol’s movie to crush Akshay Kumar at the box office? Here’s what the advance booking trends say

These substantial differences in the advance booking collection of both movies not only hints towards Gadar 2’s unmatched buzz but also reinforces Sunny Deol’s massive face value in the industry

New Delhi: Fans are eagerly waiting for 11 August to witness 2023’s biggest box office clash between two legendary Bollywood actors Sunny Doel and Akshay Kumar.

On the said day, Both the superstars will go head-on against each other when their much-awaited movies Gadar 2 and OMG 2 will have a fierce faceoff on the big screens.

With just 5 days remaining for the ultimate face-off, fans of both superstars are trying their best to help their favourite actor’s movie triumph in the upcoming battle of the sequels.

Although both movies have amazing buzz and pre-release hype amongst fans, it seems like Sunny Doel’s Gadar 2 is slowly but surely gaining on Akshay’s OMG 2 and the same is getting reflected by the advance booking numbers of both movies.

Sunny’s Gadar 2 gains on Akshay’s OMG 2

As per the latest advance booking figures of both the movies Sunny’s Gadar has so far sold tickets worth Rs 3.30 crore while Akshay Kumar’s sequel to his 2012 blockbuster OMG is lagging way behind in the race and has managed to clock only a mediocre sum of Rs 65 lacks through advance bookings. If the same trend continued in the upcoming days, Akshay Kumar might have to prepare himself for facing 6th consecutive failure at the Box office.

 What worked for Gadar 2?

The substantial differences in the advance booking collections of both movies not only hint towards Gadar 2’s unmatched buzz but also reinforces Sunny Deol’s massive face value in the industry. Additionally, the nostalgia associated with the upcoming movie’s good old prequel Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is also making the moviegoers go gaga for the movie.

On the other hand, OMG2’s relatively low advance booking figures are being seen as a result of Akshay’s recent box office failures which is making moviegoers sceptical about walking towards the theatres for his movies unless they receive extremely positive word of mouth from the critics.

Besides that, OMG 2’s release with an Adult only (A) certificate is also expected to work in favour of Sunny’s Gadar by limiting the audience of Akshay Kumar’s film.

However, regardless of what the advance bookings number says, Akshay Kumar’s fans are still hopeful for their superstar’s turn of fate at the box office with OMG 2 and will surely be inside the theatres to cheer and laud him during the movie’s premiere on 11 August.
