C Prem Kumar’s ’96’ starring Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi is an innocent love story showing two high school students reuniting after 22 years. The impactful yet subtle performances by Trisha and Vijay won everyone’s hearts and the 2018 film is still widely loved not just in Tamil Nadu but across India.

Trisha playing Janaki is undoubtedly her career-best performance and the audience showered a lot of love for the on-screen couple. The film is streaming on MX Player.

2. Kodi

Dhanush and Trisha starrer ‘Kodi’ followed two young politicians competing against each other while being romantically involved together. The film also stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi in prominent roles. ‘PS-2’ was released on April 28 in cinemas.

4. Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya

‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya’ is a must-watch love story between a filmmaker and a Christian woman which brings out the themes of heartbreak. The chemistry between Silambarasan and Trisha is something to look out for and Trisha’s portrayal of Jessie was widely lauded after the release. Written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya’ is one of the films that brought out the best in Trisha.

5. Thoongavanam

The crime-thriller follows a cop, with connection with the underworld, caught stealing cocaine. While veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Prakash Raj were in the lead, Trisha emerged as the shining star with her action. Directed by Rajesh M Selva, the 2015 film showed Trisha’s fierce avatar.
