Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s RRR is ‘most popular film from India’: Netflix

The movie which has a runtime of 3 hours and 2 minutes has been viewed for “over 45 million hours” across the world, as per the streaming platform.

New Delhi: The Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s period action epic RRR has become the “the most popular film from India” streaming on Netflix globally, announced the OTT platform.

The Hindi dubbed version of the Telugu movie started streaming on Netflix on May 20, two months after its worldwide theatrical release.

The movie which has a runtime of 3 hours and 2 minutes has been viewed for “over 45 million hours” across the world, as per the streaming platform.

“RRR is now the most popular Indian film on Netflix around the world,” Netflix announced on Twitter.

The pan-India movie was also dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, and narrated the pre-Independence fictional story around two real Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s – Alluri Sitarama Raju, played by Ram Charan, and Komaram Bheem, played by N T Rama Rao Jr.

RRR was one of the most hit movies of 2022 that has earned over Rs 1,200 crore at the box office globally.

SS Rajamouli’s directorial received positive reviews for the portrayal of his grand version, impeccable stunts, performances by the leading actors and the song  “Naacho Naacho” (or “Naatu Naatu” in Telugu), scored by MM Keeravani.

The movie also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn from the Bollywood industry in pivotal roles.

The Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada dubbed of RRR started streaming on Zee5 on May 20.
