Indian Idol 13: Shehnaaz Gill recalls running away from home to fulfill her dreams, gets emotional

New Delhi: Recently Shehnaaz Gill made an appearance on the singing reality show Indian Idol 13 during a segment dedicated to senior citizens. The scene became a tear-jerker when one of the contestants Debosmita Roy told Shehnaaz about the unconditional support her parents and family have for her singing career. The former Big Boss member told Debosmita to realize how lucky she is to have such supportive parents.

She then shared her own experience of what she had to do for making a name for herself in the industry. Shehnaaz told that she had to run away from her home to pursue her dreams. She further said that there are very few people in our country who support working women.

As Shehnaaz climbed the success ladder her parents later came by her side. She recalled taking her mother Parminder Kaur Gill on her first abroad trip to Dubai. The actress said it felt dreamy to do something great for one’s parents.

Shehnaaz looked absolutely amazing in a desi look as she wore a shimmery rose gold Punjabi suit with a sharara.

On the work front, Shehnaaz was seen along with the Rapper MC square in the music video “Ghani Syani.”

Shehnaz dazzled her fans by surprising them with a Haryanvi rap segment in the song. She received thumbs-up for nailing the Haryanvi accent.

Recently, Shehnaaz penned an emotional tribute to her late boyfriend Siddharth Shukla on his birth anniversary. She posted throwback pics and bought a cake with Siddharth’s birth dates on it. Earlier, She also recalled the late actor during her award acceptance speech in Filmfare Middler East, Achievers Night. The event was held in Dubai. Shehnaaz credited her success to Shukla and thanked him for coming into her life.
