New Delhi: Popular Indian-Origin Canadian TikTok star, Megha Thakur, passed away on 24 November at the age of 21 in Canada. The cause of her death is still not known. According to her parents, her daughter died in the early hours “Suddenly and unexpectedly.” Notably, Megha was popular for content spreading body positivity and self-confidence. She was also a student of Computer Science at Western University.
Announcing Megha’s sad demise in an Instagram post, her parents wrote, “It is with heavy hearts we announce the light of our life, our kind, caring, and beautiful daughter, Megha Thakur, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on November 24, 2022, in the early morning hours.”

They further wrote, “At this time, we request your blessings for Megha. Your thoughts and prayers will be with her in her onward journey.” They also informed Megha’s fans that the funeral of Megha Thakur was held in her hometown of Brampton, Ontario on November 29. However, the post did not specify the cause of her death.
Notably, Megha Thakur suffered a heart attack four months before she died at the age of 21 in Canada. In a video she posted in the month of July, she said, “I have really bad anxiety, which turned into stress, which turned into a heart attack.”
Megha Thakur was born in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, thereafter her parents migrated to Canada when she was just a year old.
She was based in Ontario’s Brampton, Canada, and was a known social media influencer for content related to body positivity and self-confidence. She had close to 93,000 followers on Twitter and 102,000 followers on Instagram.
