New Delhi: Celebrity marriages are a big thing and if it’s in Bollywood, then the celebration doubles up. We just recently witnessed Alia and Ranbir’s wedding and genuinely we can’t get enough of it. Now, rumours are surfacing online claiming actor Athiya Shetty could be getting married to cricketer KL Rahul towards the end of this year.
Besides, it has also been reported that the two will have a South-Indian style wedding in winter. Such claims flooded in soon after Rahul’s 30th birthday. Moreover, to commemorate Rahul’s birthday, Athiya posted a cozy picture with her beau to which the former replied, “Love you.” The post sparked off rumours about both getting married this year.

While talking to Bollywood Times, a close friend of the actress stated, “It’s not true! There’s no wedding happening this year. Athiya has two projects starting at different intervals in this year. One is for the web domain, the other is a theatrical movie. KL Rahul has the world cup coming up and his schedule is blocked with different tournaments before that. With their hands full, where do they have the time to have a wedding this year?”
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul have been dating each other for almost two years now. The two met each other through mutual friends and instantly hit it off. Gradually they became friends and their friendship turned into love. They first made their relationship Insta-official in 2019. Since then, the actress has been accompanying Rahul for his tournaments and also was seen attending matches at different venues.
Besides, Rahul accompanied Athiya and her family at the premiere of Ahan Shetty’s debut film Tadap in December last year.
