New Delhi: After putting the struggling Bollywood industry back to life with his all-time blockbuster Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan has once again shown the wrath of his stardom with his recently released actioner Jawan.
In just two days of its release, the movie has not only asserted its dominance at the box office but also created history by shattering numerous records to become the highest opening Bollywood movie of all time.
Jawan outshines Pathan in just 2 days
After minting a gigantic sum of ₹ 75 crore (India) on its first day 1, Jawan continued its tsunami on the second day as well by amassing a whopping ₹53 crore at the Box office out of which, ₹47 crore came from the Hindi version alone.
With this, Jawan also outperformed Shah Rukh’s own movie Pathan by becoming his only movie to collect over ₹ 120 crore at the domestic box office in just a matter of 2 days. Its total collection now stands at a staggering total of ₹ 128 crore which is approximately 20% higher than Pathan’s collection which was about ₹ 106 crore by the end of its second day at the BO.
Jawan’s occupancy drops on its second day
While the movie saw a solid 58% occupancy on its opening day (Thursday ), it recorded a relatively lesser occupancy of 43% on its second day (Friday) at the box office.
On its first Friday, the Shah Rukh starrer registered a decent morning occupancy of 43.11% for its Hindi shows while it’s Tamil and Telegu shows witnessed an overall occupancy of 40% and 57% respectively.
Ye toh bas shuruaat hai
Sharing the movie’s monumental figures, King Khan’s own production house Red Chilli Entertainment dropped an intriguing poster of the movie on Friday that featured Shah Rukh displaying the film’s historic Day 1 earnings.

Jawan dominates overseas markets
Speaking of the Atlee directorial’s Jaw-dropping overseas collection, the movie has so far minted around ₹ 75 crore at the global box office while performing exceptionally well in countries including Australia, New Zealand, UK Germany, Canada and the United States.
Commenting on the same, trade analysis Vijaybalan has claimed that the movie has already gone past the mark of ₹200 crore at the global box office in its two-day-long theatrical run. His claims were also seconded by another trade Analyst Ramesh Bala who even went on to report that the Magnum opus has amassed ₹230 crore globally in two days and is eyeing to enter ₹500 crore club (worldwide) by the end of its first extended weekend.
Now, with Jawan already eyeing to create history at the box office by shattering and creating numerous records simultaneously, it will be interesting to see how far its collection reaches by the end of its extended weekend.
