New Delhi: Superstar Prabhas’ upcoming movie Kalki 2989 AD is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year.
The Nag Ashwin’s epic science fiction is one of the biggest Sci-fi movies the Indian film industry has ever produced and for the same reason, its anticipation amongst the fans is simply unmatched. However, the makers of the big-budget Magnus Opus recently got alarmed after a video from the sets of their movie was leaked and made viral on social media.
Breaking the silence on the same, the filmmakers of the Amitabh starrer, on Thursday, dropped a strong legal notice on their social media handle X.
In their legal copyrighted notice, the makers of the movie have not just informed the general public that Kalki AD’s rights solely belong to their production house Vyjayanathi Movies but also have openly warned that unauthorized sharing of the movie’s scene by anyone will not be tolerated at any cost.

The notice shared by Vyjayanthi Movies reads “This is to inform the public at large that Vyjayanthi Movies are the sole and exclusive owners of all copyright and intellectual property rights in the Film KALKI 2898 AD and all underlying works including the scenes/music/footage/stills/images/ and other materials pertaining to the said film.”
“Sharing of Any material of the film including any by any person including through social media is a criminal offence punishable under the Copyright Act 1957 and other statutes. If any person is found guilty of sharing/leaking any information/news leaks/materials of the Film, then criminal proceedings shall be initiated against all such persons as per law with the support of Cyber Police.” the notice read further.
For the unversed, A leaked look of Prabhas from the movie went viral on social media a few days back and the public copyright notice by the makers is perhaps a response to the same. It is unfortunate to see how the work of many is kept at stake by malpractices like piracy and copyright infringement. We urge you not to participate or be involved in any such act.

Although the film is slated for its grand release on 12th January 2024, reports have it that the movie’s release will be delayed due to the repetitive leaking of its scenes. However, no confirmation about the same has been made by its makers so far.
