New Delhi: Karan Johar has made a successful return to directing with his film “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, this movie has won over the hearts of the audience and has become the top-grossing romantic comedy in Bollywood worldwide.
Interestingly, another film called “Gadar 2,” featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, was released just two weeks after Karan’s film and has also become a blockbuster at the box office. Recently, during an event, Karan Johar took the opportunity to discuss these achievements and their significance for the film industry.

During a conversation with The Indian Express, filmmaker Karan Johar shared his thoughts on the tremendous success of Sunny and Ameesha’s latest film, Gadar 2. He expressed his happiness about the film’s performance in single-screen theaters. Karan stated, “Gadar has amazed everyone. It was a massive hit in 2001, and now in 2023, it is breaking all records. I have been delighted with the response from single-screen audiences.”
When asked about what he would do if he had access to Sunny’s phone, Karan jokingly replied that he would send a text to the entire film fraternity saying, ‘This is how it’s done.’
Karan reassured that Bollywood will continue to deliver more films like these in the future. He emphasized that these successful movies are driven by a strong belief in their concepts and do not rely on social media or critics for approval.
Karan Johar’s Work Front
Karan Johar’s production company, Dharma Productions, has a lineup of upcoming projects. “Yodha,” featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani, will release on December 15. According to Pinkvilla, Karan is reuniting with Salman Khan after 25 years for an action film directed by Vishnu Vardhan. He is also collaborating with Alia Bhatt, his lead from “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” for a prison break action thriller directed by Vasan Bala. Additionally, he is producing “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam,” starring Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri, as well as “Mr and Mrs Mahi,” a cricket drama featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.
