New Delhi: Yesterday evening (April 6), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took the victory at Eden Garden, winning by 81 runs over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the team’s first IPL home game in four years.
Following the thrilling match, however, it ended up being the King of Bollywood and KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan and Great cricketer Virat Kohli who stole the show as they had a passionate hug on the pitch and even learned the hook-step to King Khan’s smash song Jhoome Jo Pathaan directly from the King himself.
It’s that time of year again when cricket fever is at its peak. The IPL has already begun, and the excitement for the IPL prize winner is great. For those who are unaware, Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Shanaya Kapoor attended the KKR vs. RCB match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Returning to the game, Kohli scored 21 off 18 balls as RCB collapsed to 123 all out in 17.4 overs, seeking 205 runs to win. Faf du Plessis led the way with 23 off 12 balls. Varun Chakravarthy was the highlight of the KKR bowlers, taking 4/15, whereas ‘Impact Player’ Suyash Sharma also took 3/30.
Shardul Thakur, the KKR’s all-rounder, hammered 68 off 29 balls to boost the home team from 89 for 5 in the 12th over of the innings.
Following the success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan is scheduled to appear in Atlee’s Jawan with Nayanthara. In addition, he has Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki starring Taapsee Pannu. Suhana Khan, on the other hand, will make her Bollywood film debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, in which she will co-star alongside Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda. Bedhadak will also mark Shanaya Kapoor’s Film debut.
