King of Kotha’s Box Office Journey
Despite having an immense buzz around it prior to its release, King of Kotha had a below-average theatrical run during its days at the Box office. The Malayalam gangster Drama, which arrived on the big screens with high expectations from the fans, received mixed reviews from critics and cinemagoers which was also reflected in its underwhelming collection at the ticket window.
Made with a hefty budget of Rs 55 crores, Abhilash Joshiy’s directorial heavily underperformed at the BO and was only able to clock ₹ 15.46 crore in India and ₹ 31.50 crores worldwide. Now, it will be interesting to see if the gangster drama’s digital debut will be able to bring something good for its makers by making the OTTians appreciate its intricacies that got overlooked during its days in the theatres.
