New Delhi: Vijay Devarakonda’s latest romantic drama Kushi is likely to arrive on OTT much sooner than its scheduled date.
Following the movie’s disappointing performance on the Big screens, its makers are now planning to prepone its OTT premiere date by pre-releasing the movie on the digital platform much before it’s originally planned date. The recently released movie, which hit the big screens on 1st September failed to pull the crowd and fell flat at the BO in no time.
Khushi OTT release Date
The reports have it that the makers had previously planned to premiere the movie on OTT giant Netflix around mid-November. However, after its failure at the Box office, they have made an 11th-hour change in the plans and are now preparing to release the romantic drama on OTT on or around October 2nd.
In its not-so-successful Box Office Run, Kushi, made with a budget of ₹50 crores, has so far minted ₹ 45 crores out of which it made around ₹ 35 crore from its opening weekend shows alone.
Even on its 13th day the Box Office, the movie saw a drastic downfall in its business and only made ₹ 38 lakh which is even less than its Tuesday’s BO collection which stood at ₹ 39 lakhs. With no hope of the movie’s resurgence at the Box office, makers are left with no choice but to try their luck on the digital screens by preponing the film’s digital release on Netflix.
Notably, Kushi marked the second back-to-back box office failure for superstar Vijay Deerkonda whose previous Pan India release Liger also failed to impress the moviegoers and underperformed at the Box office. Despite being made on a heavy Budget of ₹90 crore, the action thriller had a forgettable theatrical run and was only able to clock ₹56.28 crore from its India + overseas shows.
Helmed by talented director Shiva Nirvana, Kushi is the story of a non-believer young boy who ends up falling in love with the daughter of one of his dad’s arch-enemies. Besides Vijay, the movie in its stellar cast also features Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma, Sachin Khedekar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in crucial roles.
