Kushi OTT release date: Vijay Deverkonda’s rom-com to arrive on Netflix on this date

Besides Vijay, the movie in its stellar cast also features Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma, Sachin Khedekar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in crucial roles.

New Delhi: After a forgettable journey at the box office, Vijay Devokara’s romantic comedy Kushi is finally set to arrive on the digital platform.

As the highly anticipated movie failed to meet the moviegoers’ expectations and fell flat at the BO on its 4th day itself, the makers, in an attempt to cover up the losses, preponed the film’s OTT debut which was earlier scheduled to take place in mid-November.

Now, as per the latest reports, Kushi is coming on digital giant Netflix on 1st October where it will be streamed in five (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada) different Languages.

Kushi’s Box Office Failure

During its disappointing run at the Box Office, Kushi was only able to collect ₹ 45 crores (Domestic) out of which ₹ 35 crore from its first weekend shows alone.

Even on its 14th and final day at the Box Office, the movie saw a significant downfall in its business and only made ₹ 37 lakh which was even less than its 13th day BO collection which stood at ₹ 38 lakhs. With its theatrical run coming to an end as an average fair at the box office, makers were left with no choice but to try their luck on the digital screens by pre-releasing the film on its digital right holder Netflix.

Notably, Kushi’s failure also marked a second BO setback for superstar Vijay Deerkonda whose previous Pan India release Liger was unsuccessful in impressing the cinemagoers and underperformed at the ticket windows. Despite being made on a big Budget of ₹90 crore, the action thriller had a nightmarish theatrical journey during which it was only able to collect ₹56.28 crore from its India + overseas shows.
