New Delhi: The month of September came as a treat for Kannada movie lovers as a number of exciting flicks arrived on different platforms to entertain and thrill the fans.

From the theatrical release of Vijay Raghavevdra’s gangster-thriller Kaddha Chitra to the eagerly awaited OTT premiere of Hosa Dinchari and Namo Bhoothathma, the initial days of the monsoon month gave Kannada Audience a good reason to remain glued to the screens. This approaching weekend won’t be any different either as Kanna Cinema is all set to provide the fans with a heavy dose of entertainment on both Big and small screens once again

So without wasting any further time, let’s have a quick glimpse at the latest Kannada flicks that are slated for their release in cinemas and OTT this weekend.

1. Talsama Tadbhava

Helmed by talented director Vishal Atreya, Tatsma Tadbhava is an engaging suspense thriller that centres around the life of a woman named Arika (Meghna) who will leave no stone unturned to find her mysteriously disappeared husband. Prajwal Devraj, in the role of police officer Arvind Ashwatthama, also helps Arika and leads the investigation aimed at finding her lost husband.

Besides Prajwal and Meghna, the thriller also features Arvind Iyer, Balaji Manohar and Rajshri Ponnappa in crucial roles.

2. 13

Written and directed by K Narendra Baboo, 13 is a suspense drama that centres around the life of an investigating officer (Pramod) who is determined to uncover the dark secrets a family has been trying to hide from the world. In its talented cast, the film features Raghavendra Rajkumar, Shruthi, and Pramod Shetty in the leading roles.

3. Parimala D’souza

The murder mystery directed by Dr Girdhar features renowned actress Bhavya in the leading role.

Its story centres around the life of Parimala D’souza whose happy world shattered into pieces when an unforeseen tragedy, involving a number of characters and twists, unfolds upon her and changes her forever.b Other than Bhavya, the movie’s cast also boasts over 100 skilled artists including  Komal Banavase, Sunil Mohite, Ugram Reddy, Chandana Srinivas, Vinod Seshadri, Shweta Ramesh, Pooja Ramachandra, Nagamangala Jayaram, Meese Anjanappa, Jyoti Marur, Laxman Gowda, Rohini, and Srinivas Prabhu.

4. Hostel Hudgaru Bekagriddare

Nithin Krishnamurthy’s campus comedy is undoubtedly one of the biggest Kannada hits of 2023. The movie is not only known for its impressive performance at the box office but is also remembered for ending the drought of theatres and pulling the crowd back to the big screens once again. its story centres around the theme of pop culture and takes place in a single night at a boy’s hostel.

Despite clashing neck to neck with Hollywood giants Barbie and Oppenheimer, Hostel Hudgaru Bekagriddare held its ground and made a whopping collection of ₹ 13.5 crore in its theatrical run. Its Telugu dubbed version was also received by the fans with open arms and now it’s the OTTian’s turn to welcome the movie when it makes its arrival on the digital platform Zee5 on 15 September.
