It is reported that a total of three FIRs have been arrested against the Marathi actress. According to media reports, the post targeting Mr Pawar was written by someone else.
However, the post was shared in the Marathi language. Reportedly, the post does not directly mention the NCP leader’s full name. Instead of the full name, she wrote the leader’s surname Pawar and the age of 80. In the whole post, she criticised Mr Pawar.
The post alleges Pawar ”hates Brahmins” and comments like ”hell is waiting” are part of the post.
Talking about the FIR, a police official said a person Swapnil Netke filed a complaint in Thane’s Kalwa police station on Saturday.
Netke alleged that the actress’ post may strain the relationship between the two political parties in the state.
Notably, Pawar’s party NCP is in power in Maharashtra with the Shiv Sena and the Congress.
The police officer added that the case against Chitale was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 500 (defamation), 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory), 505 (2) (making, publishing or circulating and statement, rumour, or report promoting enmity hatred or ill will between classes), 153A (spreading disharmony among people).
