Naagin actor Pearl V Puri arrested for rape allegations

New Delhi: Mumbai Police arrested television show ‘Naagin 3’ actor Pearl V Puri in the investigation of rape of a minor. Pearl was arrested from Vasai. Sanjay Patil, DCP Vasai Virar, said “The incident is old but the 17 year old minor victim complained to us along with her mother at the police station and we registered case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO) Act, 2012.”

Vasai court remanded Pearl in police custody. Patil refused to say further as the case falls under POCSO act.

On the other hand, Pearl’s co-star Anita Hassnandani showed her support for the actor on Saturday. She shared a picture with him on Instagram and captioned it as, “Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true … canNOT be true…. all lies. I’m sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL.”

Pearl is known for starring in various popular TV shows like Naagin 3, Naagarjuna Ek Yoddha and Bepanah Pyaar. His last outing on the television was in Brahmarakshas 2, he played the role of Angad Mehra. Pearl debuted on the television with Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat in 2013, he was later seen in Phir Bhi Na Maane…Badtameez Dil.
