Sushant Singh Rajput drug case: NCB arrests his friend & former flatmate Siddharth Pithani

New Delhi: In a new twist in the drugs case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested the late actor’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani from Hyderabad on Friday. An official told PTI, “Pithani’s alleged role in the drug case, that emerged post the actor’s death, came to light during the NCB’s investigation and hence he was arrested.”

Pithani stayed with Sushant at his Bandra residence in suburban Mumbai. In June last year, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead was found dead in his Bandra apartment at the age of 34. His death led to a turmoil of controversies in the whole Bollywood industry.

The investigation of Rajput’s death was given to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), they had questioned Pithani and cook Neeraj Singh in connection with the case in August last year. The CBI team reconstructed the sequence of events before the actor was found dead on June 14. The investigation team went to the actor’s house in Bandra for recreating the scenes and were accompanied by Neeraj, Deepesh Sawant (one of Sushant’s domestic help) and Pithani. The three were in the apartment when actor was found dead.

Lawyer of Sushant’s father KK Singh, Vikas Singh commented on Pithani and said that he is extremely “dubious”. He also alleged Pithani to be a very intelligent criminal. Vikas Singh told ANI that Pithani’s behaviour towards Rajput’s family changed after they registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty.
