New Delhi: One of the most popular and loved female singer of Bollywood, Neha Kakkar will be celebrating her birthday on June 6. Her careers has been full of ups and downs, starting singing at the age of 4 as she performed at religious events with her elder sister Sonu Kakkar, a playback singer. She was popularly known as ‘Jai Mata Di Girl’.
She participated in India’s prestigious singins competition show, Indian Idol in 2005 at the age of 16. She received lots of compliments from the judges but later got eliminated due to less number of votes. She then starting singing in South music industry where she even won the Filmfare Awards South’s Best Female Playback Singer. After the award various singers and composers started recognizing her.
But she got her big breakthrough in 2012 when she collaborated with ace music director Pritam for Saif Ali Khan’s film Cocktail. She sang the ‘Second Hand Jawani’ which became a hit overnight. Since then, she has not look back as she gave a lot of hits including London Thumakda (Queen), Aao Raja (Gabbar is Back), Sunny Sunny (Yaariyan), and she is still adding to the list. She is also the only Indian singer, who received a Diamond Award from Youtube after her channel crossed the 10 million subscribers mark.
Then in 2017, Neha collaborated with Tanishk Bagchi and the duo started a trend of recreating old songs, such as Dilbar, Aankh Maarey, O Saki Saki, Ek Toh Kum Zindagani and all of them have hundreds of millions of views on YouTube. Dilbar of Satyameva Jayate became the first Indian song to reach the third number spot on the Billboard YouTube Music Chart.
