Netflix Releases in December 2021: Latest OTT web series, TV shows and Movies to watch (Trailers)

Raveena Tandon as a local cop Kasturi delves into an ancient myth in the misty Himalayas, digging up skeletons and reviving a forgotten myth of a bloodthirsty, serial killing entity in the forest.

New Delhi: Actor Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka, that follows the story of an ambitious ex-news anchor Arjun Pathak, who is given another chance to go live on prime-time television when a terrorist calls him with a bomb threat, knocked our doors on the digital giant Netflix with a bang in festival of lights last month. The hit thriller remains in the top 10 of the OTT streaming service more than a week after its release.

Now, as we approach towards one of the biggest annual festivals in the world, a bunch of much awaited new arrivals including ‘Money Heist (Volume 2)’ and ‘Cobalt Blue’ will be joining the platform for you to binge watch throughout the chilly weather of the last month of the year 2021.

Movies, shows releasing from December 20 – 31:

1. Elite Short Stories: Samuel Omar

Release Date: December 20

Some busy Spanish teens are sent to the ‘elite’ fictional high-school after their actual school literally collapses. When Samuel is threatened with eviction from his childhood home, Omar proposes an alluring idea to raise money.

2. Emily in Paris (Season 2) 

Release Date: December 22

In the first season, after landing her dream job in Paris, Chicago marketing exec Emily Cooper embraces her adventurous new life while juggling work, friends and romance. Meanwhile, in the new season of Emily in Paris, Cooper brings out her more grounded character upon having a solid foundation in Paris.

3. Don’t Look Up

Release Date: December 24

Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling toward Earth. The response from a distracted world: Meh.

4. Minnal Murali

Release Date: December 24

‘Minnal Murali’ is a story of an ordinary man -turned-superhero Murali, who is struck by a bolt of lightning, which bestows him with special powers. Guru Somasundaram, Harisree Ashokan and Aju Varghese are also part of the movie.

5.The Silent Sea

Release Date: December 24

Park Eun-kyo, Choi Hang-yong directorial is a story of a perilous 24-hour mission on the moon, space explorers try to retrieve samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets.

6.Vicky and Her Mystery

Release Date: December 24

After her mom’s death, a heartbroken girl and her dad settle in wild, beautiful Cantal. Can a special creature help her heal? Inspired by true events, Vicky and her Mystery features Vincent Elbaz, Shanna Keil, Marie Gillain in the pivotal roles.

7. Lulli

Release Date: December 26

A brilliant but self-centered medical student seems incapable of listening to others — until an accident gives her the ability to hear people’s thoughts. The comedy-drama features Larissa Manoela, Vinícius Redd and Amanda de Godoi.

8. Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer 

Release Date: December 29

In 1970s New York City, the “Torso Killer” preys on women to fulfill his grotesque fantasies while eluding police. A docuseries dive into crime’s darkest places.

9. Cobra Kai (Season 4) 

Release Date: December 31

Decades after the tournament that changed their lives, the rivalry between Johnny and Daniel reignites in this sequel to the “Karate Kid” films. Created by Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz, the fourth season stars Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, and Xolo Maridueña in lead roles. 

10. The Lost Daughter

Release Date: December 31

Starring Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley and Dakota Johnson in the lead roles, The Lost Daughter is a woman’s quiet seaside vacation takes an unsettling turn when her fixation on a young mother staying at a nearby villa awakens memories from her past.

3. How to Ruin a Christmas (Season 2)

Release Date: December 10

In the last season, a wedding had brought some pleasure in the Sello and Twala families. However, this year, family rebel Tumi Sello’s festival plans are ruined when an untimely death occurs. As the free-spirited Tumi always manages to make a mess of things. Can she make it through this funeral without ruining it completely?

4. Decoupled

Release Date: December 17

Helmed by Hardik Mehta, ‘Decoupled’ is a story of a separating couple navigating through their marriage. R. Madhavan and Surveen Chawla-starrer ‘Decoupled’ is scheduled to release on Netflix on December 17.

5. A California Christmas

6. The Witcher (Season 2)

The web-series starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan is about Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster-hunter for hire, journeys toward his destiny in a turbulent world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. The series will premiere on digital giant on Dec 17.
