New Delhi: Renowned actress Ameesha Patel is all set to appear on the big screens after a long time with her upcoming movie Gadar 2.
Besides Amisha and Sunny Deol, the much-awaited movie will also feature young actress Simrat Kaur alongside debutant Utkarsh Sharma in pivotal roles.
Ameesha defends her co-actress
Lately, Ameesha was seen defending her co-actress Simrat Kaur after the latter made headlines for her intimate scenes from a Telegu movie that went viral on Twitter.
For the uninformed, Simran Kaur recently faced harsh criticism over her viral intimate scenes from a movie titled Dirty Hari. While one section of people got enraged seeing Gadar 2’s actress doing bold scenes, others started making claims that the leaked scenes are from Gadar 2 itself.
As the misinformation spread like wildfire all over the internet, Simrat found herself on the receiving end with netizens trolling her mercilessly and questioning her casting in Gadar 2 until Ameesha stepped in and crushed all the rumours with her tweet in which she told that the viral pictures are not from Gadar 2.
In her clarification tweet, Gadar’s Sakeena wrote, “These are not images from GADAR 2!! ”

In yet another tweet Ameesha quoted, “Gadar will always remain Gadar, there are no two ways about it”

However, Ameesha’s clarifications were just not enough for the netizens who continued criticising the movie’s team for casting Simrat in the movie.
Seeing her co-actress receive so much hate, Ameesha once again jumped in her defence and wrote, “Spent the entire evening 2day defending the negativity surrounding Simrat Kaur who is paired opp Utkarsh Sharma in Gadar 2.”
She further requested people not to shame Simrat and learn to encourage the new upcoming talent in the industry.
Ameesha trolled for defending Simrat
Amisha’s second tweet saw a mixed response from the public.
While some people praised the actress for defending her young friend, others slammed her saying, “This marketing gimmick won’t work here.”
Calling out Amisha one user wrote “Mam don’t try to hide behind woman card. ” Another user said that actress like Simrat doesn’t deserve to be in movies like Gadar.
A third comment read, “Are you defending or promoting? ”

More on Gadar 2
Gadar 2 is the much-awaited second instalment of the cult classic movie Gadar: Ek prem katha which was released back in 2001.
It is helmed by Anil Sharma and features veteran actor Sunny Deol alongside Ameesha Patel in the lead role. The movie also stars Anil Sharma’s son Utkarsh Sharma back in the role of Charanjeet Singh (Tara and Sakeena’s Son) against popular Telegu actress Simrat Kaur.
Gadar 2 will hit the cinemas on 11 August.
