The Bastar actress decided to become an actor when she was in class 10th. Adah wanted to drop school to fulfill her dream but her parents told her to finish her graduation.

New Delhi: Indian actress Adah Sharma who is known for her films like ‘The Kerala Story’ and ‘Bastar’ is celebrating her birthday today. Adah hails from Mumbai and her father is a Tamil Brahmin and a captain in the Indian Merchant Navy. Her mother was a Malayali and a Indian Classical dancer and Yoga Practitioner.

The Bastar actress decided to become an actor when she was in class 10th. Adah wanted to drop school to fulfill her dream but her parents told her to finish her graduation. She quit studying after 12th grade.

The ‘Bastar’ actress learned dancing when she was 3 years old and completed her graduation in Kathak from the Nataraj Gopi Krishna Kathak Academy. Adah has also learnt Salsa in US for 4 months. Apart from these, she claims to be very good in ‘Belly Dancing’. The ‘Kerala Story’ actress is also a practitioner of ‘Silambam’ which is an Indian weapon based Martial Art.

Adah was rejected in many auditions when she was trying to maker her debut in the film industry. The directors thought she looked too young or because oh her curly hair. She was finally shortlisted for the Hindi Horror film in 2009 ‘1920’ directed by Vikram Bhatt. Her role of a possessed woman was appreciated by critics. The film was a commercial success and she also won a Best Female Debut Nomination Award.
