She completed her education in a commerce stream from the Stella Maris college in Chennai. Samantha started modelling towards the end of her final year in college. The actress was spotted by a Film maker Ravi Varman.
She made film debut with a Telugu film ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ . The film was made in Tamil as well. Samantha gave the audition and was picked up to do the role in the film. The film was shot in India and United States and was released in 2010.

The Telugu actress started dating her film co-star Naga Chaitanya in 2010 and the couple came closer and got married in Goa in 2017. Everything was going fine but soon she removed her married name from her Social Media handles which made people speculate of something wrong. The couple announced separation in 2021 and got divorced.

The South actress has fallen sick in 2012 due to which she ended up leaving many big projects and took a break from acting for over 2 months. Things gotten worse when her body was responding well to the antibiotics. She finally bounced back and came back stronger on the sets.
