One of the biggest human tragedies: Anupam Kher Shares glimpses from ‘The Kashmir Files’ as Kashmiri Pandit Genocide clocks 32 Yrs

New Delhi: Veteran actor Anupam Kher is all set to bring the painful tragedies of the Kashmiri Pandit genocide on the screen with his upcoming film ‘The Kashmir Files’.

The actor, who himself hails from Kashmir took to social media on Wednesday to remind his followers of the heart-wrenching pain, suffering, struggle, and trauma of Kashmiri pandits.

As the tragedy marks 32 years on January 19, Kher shared a string of BTS pictures from the sets of ‘The Kashmiri Files’. Along with the pics he wrote, “Today, 19th Jan 2022 completes 32 years of #KashmiriPanditGenocide!! Thousands of innocent people were killed, brutalized and women raped. World has turned a blind eye to one of the biggest human tragedies and still not acknowledged the atrocities this community had to go through!”

“No kashmiri pandit picked up a gun. We used education and knowledge and have tried to move on. But ultimately TRUTH will prevail. I genuinely believe upar wala sab dekhta hai! My nalmot (hug in Kashmiri) to all the families of the victims of this genocide and also to my fellow brothers, sisters, older people and small kids who had to flee their homes in Kashmir on the night of Jan 19th, 1990. ??”, he added.

In the first pic, the actor’s face could be seen covered in blue paint with emotions of pain, fear and horror running over it. The next two pics shows his character trying to protect his land and people.

Directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is based on video interviews of the first generation victims of the Kashmir genocide of the Kashmiri Pandit Community.
