New Delhi: Oppenheimer, the latest flick from Hollywood has taken the silver screen by storm, globally. The movie has been raking in big moolah in almost all countries including India.
Christopher Nolan’s directorial, starting from pre-booking to release day, recorded big footfalls in theatres across the country. It’s Day 1 India earnings stood at more than Rs 13 crore. The film had a superb weekend and it is all set to cross Rs 50 crore mark in just 3 days of release.
Unlike the global trend, Oppenheimer has outwitted Barbie, yet another blockbuster from Hollywood, in earnings in India.
Nolan’s film, despite facing huge public ire online over insulting Bhagwad Geeta, recorded big footfall at the weekend.
On Sunday, the film’s earnings were logged at about Rs 18 crore. Though, the film opened in 2000-3000 screens in India, a relatively lower number but it has garnered enough attention from viewers. Till last reports, the movie’s earnings had swelled up to about Rs 49 crores.
According to a Sacnilk.com report, Oppenheimer collected about Rs 13 crore on Day, 18 crores on Day 2 and was about to end Day with over 18 crore earnings. Together, the data takes it closer to ₹49 crore.
The movie also marked a clash of blockbusters in the Hollywood as Oppenheimer released on the same day as Barbie.
