New Delhi: This monsoon is going to begin with a bang for all Hollywood movie enthusiasts as a number of exciting movies are lined up for their release this July.
From Tom Cruise’s highly awaited Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One to Christmas Nolan’s Oppenheimer, a number of Hollywood movies will see their grand release on the big screens this month.
Exhibitors to play Oppenheimer at 3 AM
Recently, some media reports revealed that owing to a large demand for Oppenheimer movie’s IMAX tickets, the exhibitors will be playing the much-anticipated movie shows up to 4 AM.
If sources are to be believed, some PVRs in Mumbai have already opened advance bookings for the movie’s 3,4 and 5 AM shows. Now it is expected that the same trend is going to continue in several IMAX theatres in other major big cities as well.
Interestingly, It’s not just the IMAX version that will be getting late-night screenings as even the normal shows of the starrer are being planned to be played post-midnight by exhibitors.
Oppenheimer’s pre-release hype
Commenting about the movie’s pre-release hype, one exhibitor said that Since Oppenheimer is a big movie and is meant for theatres, no one is going to wait for watching it on OTT or on Television screens and that’s why we have decided to run it post-midnight. He further said that it’s fascinating to see the craze for an adult-rated Hollywood flicker among the public.
Notably, Oppenheimer will be the first-ever Adult rated Hollywood movie to get post-midnight shows in the country. Prior to it, only a handful of UA-rated Hollywood movies including Avatar, Marvel series and The Way of Water were given such late-night screenings.
