New Delhi: Newly wed Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have come up with a surprising announcement on Monday. The couple announced that they are expecting a baby and that too with a pic from their ultrasound appointment.
Taking to Instagram, Alia Bhatt shared a pic from her ultrasound with hubby Ranbir sitting beside her as she captioned the picture, “Our baby ….. coming soon” along with a red heart emoji.
While the first pic from Alia’s Insta post was from her scans, she shared another metaphorical pic of a lion couple along with their cub.
The sudden announcement left their fans ecstatic, with millions showering the couple with best wishes.

Meanwhile, the Kapoor and Bhatt family too shared adorable reactions of the happy news. Alia’s mother Soni Razdan wrote in the comment section, “Congratulations Mama and Papa lion”.
The Bhramastra co-stars’ common friends from industry also dropped endearing congratulatory messages in the comment section.
Filmmaker Karan Johar wrote, “Heart is bursting” with several red heart emojis.
Actors Tiger Shroff, Rakul Preet, Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra were among the first celebs to shower the duo with congratulations.
The news of Alia’s pregnancy has come up just within two months of her marrige with Kapoor. The actor duo had tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony at their Bandra home on April 14 this year.

Recently, during ‘Shamshera’ promotions, Ranbir had hinted about extending his family when he was quizzed about his work in the films post-marriage.
“Abhi mujhe bahot kaam karna hai sir. Abhi mujhe family banani hai, unke liye kaam karna hai. Pehle mai khudke liye kaam karraha tha. Nahi nahi, abhi mai bahot kaam karunga (I would have to put in a lot of work right now. I want to extend my family now and work for them. Earlier I used to work for myself but now I will work real hard for my family)”, he had said.
