New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan & Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan is on a record breaking spree, ever since its release on January 25. The blockbuster film, which set new records of Box Office openings with Rs 100 crore earnings on each day, has now dethroned India’s biggest & highest earning film ‘Baahubali 2’ from the numero uno position.
SRK’s Pathaan is now highest grosser of the Hindi film industry, having dethroned another epic film from the top spot, director by iconic filmmaker SS Rajamouli.
Film critic and Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to make the announcement. Without sharing information about collections, he declared that Pathaan has crossed past the earnings of Baahubali 2 and hence has become the highest earning film of Hindi film industry.
The film achieved this feat in less than 40 days of its release. It not only trounced the boycott call gang but went on to create a record, unclaimed by any film now. In fact, this is also Shah Rukh’s highest earning movie. Prior to this, SRK was not even in Rs 300 crore league but this spy drama catapulted the actor to unimaginable heights of success.

Baahubali 2, starring Prabhas, was the highest earning movie till date. The movie which hit theatres in 2017 earned a lifetime collection of Rs 510.99 crore at the Hindi Box office. SS Rajamouli directorial was a runaway hit not just in South but its Hindi version took the cienbuffs with a storm. Till date, it is only movie to enter Rs 1,000 crore club in worldwide collections. KGF 2 was another magnum opus to have set cash registers ringing and reached quite close to Baahubali.
With Pathaan surpassing Baahubali 2, it is now officially the highest earning film of Hindi film industry, though numbers are yet to be disclosed.
Pathaan had a dream run at the Box Office & went full steam despite couple of releases including Shehzada & Selfiee.
The film marked a comeback for King Khan, who missed the silver screen for almost 4 years, and re-established his undisputed reign at the Box Office.
