The film may be a cinematic adaptation of creator Kalki Krishnamurthy’s Tamil novel of the same title which was released within the frame of a series amid the 1950s. It marks the third collaboration of Aishwarya with south performing artist Vikram after their critically acclaimed film Raavan in 2010.
