New Delhi: Fashion model and actor Poonam Pandey surely know how to create a buzz among the fans and news. The ‘Nasha’ actor who was first in the news when she announced that she would strip if team India wins the World Cup in 2011, often goes viral for her hot and steamy looks on her Instagram posts.
However, this time Pandey has created hype for a much uncommon reason.
The actor is all set to mark her OTT debut from Ekta Kapoor’s already controversial web-reality show ‘Lock Upp’, which is to be hosted by fierce Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut.
The show has managed to get all the controversial figures in its kitty an all-around hype, with its contestants including names like comedian Munawar Faruqui, who stands at a far opposite side as to the political ideologies and opinions of host Ranaut, as well as Nisha Rawal who was earlier in news for a domestic violence case.
Now that it’s announced that Pandey would also be one of the contenders in Kangana’s jail, here’s what she have revealed about participating in the show.
In conversation with English daily News18, Poonam said while talking about her participation in the show, “I think it’s going to be one of the biggest shows in India”.
“My phone is ringing nonstop. People are telling me, ‘Oh my god, are you actually doing Lock Upp? Aren’t you scared? Kangana ma’am is going to be the host. Something can happen.’ And, I’m like, ‘Yeah but, she is human! She is not a monster, so why I would be scared of her. I hope I pull it off. I hope I get the trophy’.”
For the unversed, Poonam had accused her ex-husband of physical molestation and causing mental trauma last year.
While talking about her personal state she said, “I was going through my own trauma in my life. There were a lot of unfortunate things that were happening in my life. I was not able to concentrate on anything in my life. There was a point in my life when I was like, ‘Enough Poonam! Let’s do something big. Let’s show the world what Poonam Pandey is’.”
“So, I’m grateful for this opportunity that has come my way in the form of Lock Upp. It’s like a blessing”, she added.
Lock Upp is currently streaming on OTT platforms Alt Balaji and MX Player.
