Ranbir Kapoor apologises for remark on Alia’s weight gain, says ‘sorry to people who got offended…’

After the apology, netizens are greeting him with some positive remarks. His apology video along with pictures from the promotion has gone viral.

New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor was in Chennai, promoting his upcoming film ‘Bramastra: Part One-Shiva’ when he apologised for his remarks on Alia’s weight gain. The couple was promoting the film on YouTube live when Ranbir cracked a joke about Alia gaining weight due to pregnancy. Netizens were offended due to the nature of the joke.

While Alia was talking on a YouTube live session, Ranbir interrupted and said, “I can see somebody has phaeloed,” and seeing Alia in shock he added, “Joke… in a cute way.” His remarks were not very well taken by the netizens and people called him out for it. Recently, he was asked about it in Chennai and the actor apologised stating if anyone got triggered, it was not his intention.

Ranbir said, “Yes, absolutely. Firstly, let me start with, I love my wife with everything that I have in my life. I think it’s a joke that didn’t turn out to be funny. I really want to apologise if I have triggered anyone. It was not my intention. So I want to say sorry to people who got offended or triggered.” He also said that he had spoken about it to Alia and she “laughed it off.” He further went on to tell that he has a bad sense of humour and apologised if anyone was hurt by it.
