New Delhi: Ranveer Singh has toppled Virat Kohli to become India’s most valued celebrity. The Cirkus star broke Kohli’s streak of holding the title for 5 years straight.
Despite having a dry spell at the box office, Ranveer Singh surpassed top shots like Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt to rank number 1 in Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Evaluation report. The Bajirao Mastani actor’s evaluated brand value is a whooping number of $181.7 million.
Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Evaluation report
Every year, Kroll ranks the top 25 names from the entertainment and sports industry on the basis of their brand values. This year, Virat Kohli has slipped to the second position with a brand value of $176. 9 million.
The list becomes even more surprising as the third spot is bagged by Selfiee star Akshay Kumar with a $153.6 million brand value.
Alia Bhatt ($102.9 million) became the top actress (rank 4th) and Deepika Padukone was listed in the 5th position ($82.9 million).
Apart from Kohli, former cricket captain MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar managed to secure a place in the top 10.
Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan also found a place in the top 10. However, Shahrukh Khan being ranked in the 10th position left everyone shocked. After all, King Khan’s brand value should have jumped by multiple times after the immensely successful run of Pathaan.
South Indian entries in the top 25
Thanks to the success of Pushpa, the lead actors Allu Arjun ($31.4 million) and Rashmika Mandanna ($25.3 million) became the first ones from the South Indian entertainment industry to ever secure a place in Kroll’s coveted list.
