Remove video in 3 days or…: Narottam Mishra warns Sunny Leone and makers over ‘Madhuban’ song

Madhya Pradesh’s home minister Narottam Mishra has warned actor Sunny Leone and singers of ‘Madhuban mein Radhika, jaise jungle me nache mor’ to withdraw their music video in three days.

New Delhi: Narottam Mishra, the Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh has warned actor Sunny Leone, Singers Shaarib and Toshi to apologise and withdraw their music video ‘Madhuban mein Radhika, jaise jungle me nache mor’ within three days. Refusing to follow the statement will allow Mishra to take strict action against them. The statement was made by the minister on Sunday.

“Some vidharmis are constantly hurting Hindu sentiments. The video ‘Madhuban me Radhika nache’ is one such condemnable attempt. I am warning Sunny Leone ji, Shaarib and Toshi ji to understand. If they don’t remove the song after apologising in three days, then we will take action against them,” said Narottam Mishra.

The song was released on December 22 and garnered over 98 lakh views on YouTube till December 26.

However, this is not the first time Sunny Leone’s new album received objection. Mathura-based priests demanded a ban on the video as they found the actor’s dance on this song to be objectionable. “We will go to court if the government does not act against the actress and ban her video album,” said Sant Naval Giri Maharaj of Vrindaban.

Akhil Bhartiya Tirth Purohit Mahasabha’s national president Mahesh Pathak stated that Sunny Leone throughout the song has defamed the prestige of Brijbhumi by presenting the song in a “derogatory manner.”

Narottam Mishra said on Sunday that the song has hurt the sentiments of Hindus as they worship Radha as Goddess.

Mohammad Rafi originally sang ‘Madhuban mein Radhika, jaise jungle me nache mor’ that featured in the 1960 movie Kohinoor. The song featuring Sunny Leone is a rendition of that iconic version where only the phase Madhuban mein naache Radhika has been taken from the earlier one.

In October, Narottam Mishra warned Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for withdrawing his mangalsutra ad that was portrayed as “objectionable and obscene”. Following this, Sabyasachi removed the ad from his official Instagram page. A Karva Chauth ad that featured same-sex couple was also withdrawn after Narottam’s warning.
