“Ridiculous Mockery of Ramayana”: Offensive Adipurush dialogues leave Netizens fuming, Manoj Muntahsir slammed

Despite minting a recording collection of 140 Crore at the box office on its very first day, Adipurush continued to receive backlash and heaps of criticism for one thing or the other.

New Delhi: Adipurush, one of the most anticipated as well as controversial movies of 2023 finally managed to hit the theaters this Friday.

Within a day of its release, the Prabhas starrer became one of the most talked about and debated topics across the internet.

Despite minting a record collection of 140 Crore at the box office on its very first day, Adipurush continued to receive backlash and heaps of criticism for one thing or the other.

This time, it’s the cringe dialogues from the movie that have unpleased the netizens, critics, and even some political figures.

Adipurush’s infuriating “Jalegi Tere Baap Ki”

Out of all the dialogues, the one that infuriated the audience most is uttered by Lord Hanuman during a scene prior to Lanka Dehen where he is heard saying, “Kapda tere baap ka, tel tere baap ka, aag tere baap ki, jalegi bhi tere baap ki” says to Ravan’s son Indrajit after he sets his tail on fire.

In another controversial scene, Ravana says, “Teri bua ka bageecha hai jo hawa khane aa gaya.”

Netizens Bash Adipurush’s dialogues

Enraged by these cringy tapori-like dialogues from the movie, many voiced their anger on Twitter and called out Adipurush’s dialogue writer for giving such cringe and cheap-sounding dialogues to the Character of Lord Hanuman.

“Adipurush makers have messed this up beyond redemption. After putting such dialogues on our gods, they have put a disclaimer in the film that it isn’t based on Valmiki’s Ramayana. Mocking Ramayana but also playing legally safe. Ridiculous. Hurtful” Tweeted one user.

Another comment,” Seriously? What the hell were they thinking writing stuff like this.” A third user wrote that he has given up on his plan to watch the movie after getting to know about its dialogues.

Some more Twitter reactions on Adipurush’s dialogues:

Meanwhile, Adipurush’s dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir has defended the movie’s dialogues saying that he committed no error by doing oversimplification of the words. The writer even went on to say that his dialogues are backed by a meticulous thought process.

Separately, a petition has also been filed in the High Court of Delhi against Om Raut’s directorial for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community by mocking Lord Rama and Hanuman.
