New Delhi: Rajamouli directorial & Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2, the biggest blockbusters as well as money grossers in recent times have been hit by piracy.
As both blockbuster movies were readying for release on OTT platforms, the full HD versions of both the flicks were leaked by pirates. According to reports, both the movies were released on several torrent websites in HD quality. Both the movies were leaked online on various torrent sites.
Both the blockbuster movies raked in huge moolah at the box office as well as in overseas market but their earnings have suddenly recorded sharp drop post the online leak.
This is not the first that a leading movie has been leaked on torrent sites. Days ago, some of leading Bollywood movies including Heropanti 2, Ajay Devgn’s Runway 34 and Ram Charan’s Acharya were leaked online. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was also hit by piracy.
Rajamouli’s directorial RRR was released in March this year and had marked the collaboration of Tollywood stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan. The film depicted the lives of 2 freedom fighters who led relentless fight to free the country from the clutches of British empire.
Till date, the movie has recorded more than Rs 1100 crore in worldwide collections. It is reportedly the highest grosser in post-Corona phase and also marked the return of audience in theatres.
KGF: Chapter 2 was released in April and it has also smashed many Box office records. It was the second movie from the Southern film industry to collect earnings of more than Rs 1100 crore. KGF: Chapter 2 starred Yash, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty and Sanjay Dutt in the lead.
After Pushpa, the unprecedented success of RRR and KGF-Chapter 2 also came as a wake-up call for Bollywood as the latter has lately failed in churning out meaningful movies.
