New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan, the King of the Bollywood industry and co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), arrived at the historic Eden Gardens on the evening of Thursday. He has come to support his side in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match no. 9 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore. (RCB). In exchange, his squad rewarded him with an 81-run victory, the team’s first of the season.
The game appeared to be in RCB’s hands as they reduced KKR to 89/5 after electing to bowl first. However, a 103-run partnership between Shardul Thakur and Rinku Singh swung the scoreboard in the Knight Riders’ favor, setting a 205-run goal for the Royal Challengers.

Following the thrilling triumph, Shah Rukh Khan joined Nitish Rana and his teammates in the changing room to celebrate. They all assembled and sang the team’s anthem. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh attempted to pull Rinku’s leg by stating, “We will all follow Rinku.” However, the KKR batter was apprehensive, saying, “It’s too much English.”
“So put your hand on your heart and sing, because playing for KKR means everything. From Eden Gardens to every breakthrough, it’s more than just me and you. We turn up to play for KKR, it’s purple in our blood… you beauty,” the squad said in unison.
