Namita Thapar & Anupam Mittal were the two sharks who shared differing views on Equity Vs Debt and indulged in small verbal duel in the show.

What happened in the show

As per the show’s format, a lot many pitches were made by aspiring businessmen before the Sharks/judges. The first pitch was a jewellery brands by Amit Kala & Chinu Kala. Sharing their hardships & struggles, they recalled how they began with nothing in hand but their unyielding dream kept them going.

Chinu said that she was kicked out of home when she was just 13 years old. She sold items door-to-door for her livelihood and upon meeting her husband Amit, their business took shape. They started making jewellery for beauty pageants.

They made their pitch and sought Rs 1.5 crore for 0.5 per cent equity.

The story & proposal of Chinu-Amit drew thumbs up from all the judges as Namita, Aman and Vineeta agreed to offer Rs 1 crore for 1% equity and Rs 50 lakh debt at a 12% interest rate. Anupam also joined and made similar commitment to pitchers.

When the pitchers demanded that equity part be replaced, Namita said that debt is cheaper that equity, following which she gets into heated argument with Anupam. The pitchers finally sided with Namita, Aman and Vineeta & sealed the deal.

Many other pitches were also made on the show including a parental lock ap for mobile phones. He told the judges that he quit CarDekho company to start his venture. He said that he was earning Rs 2 lakh monthly income. Sharks were impressed but none offered to invest money in his enterprise.

Another pitch was about a chocolate company by Harshvardhan. Being an old acquaintance of the judges Peyush & Vineeta, he made his pitch and sought Rs 1 crore for 1% equity. Peyush sealed the deal at Rs 50 lakh for 1% equity and Rs 50 lakh debt at 10% interest rate.
