New Delhi: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is celebrating her birthday today. The ‘Life in Metro’ actress was born in Mangalore in Karnataka. Her parents used to work in a Pharmaceutical company. She studied at the St Anthony’s Girl’s High School in Matunga. Not many people know that Shilpa Shetty is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and used to be the captain of Volley Ball team in her school.

The 90s actress began her career as a model and was first featured in the Limca Ad. Following this, she stared getting many offers for television commercials. She signed her first debut film in the year 1992, ‘Gaata rahe mera dil’. Due to some reasons, this film was not released. Her next film was ‘Baazigar’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The film was a hit and audience loved the performance of the fitness enthusiast.
