New Delhi: Following the success of his chat show Koffee with Karan’s eighth season, Karan Johar is all set to entertain the fans with his much-awaited upcoming series Showtime. In the ambitious OTT series, the ace director & producer will introduce the viewers to the several hidden things that take place behind the curtains of showbiz.
With Emran Hashmi, Mauni Roy & several other B-town actors in key roles, the web show will throw light on the lesser-known prevalent practices of the Hindi film industry while attempting to uncover the intriguing world present behind the scenes. Besides this, Showtime will also explore various other controversial aspects like nepotism, power struggles, and politics, which are very common in the multimillion-dollar industry.

Further hyping up the buzz of his highly anticipated web series, Karan, on February 9, teased his followers by sharing an intriguing date announcement promo of Showbuzz from his official Instagram handle. The compelling video features all the renowned Bollywood stars from the web series’ lead cast preparing themselves for the shoot in luxury sets & vanity vans.
In the caption of his post, Johar also revealed Showtime’s official OTT release date and announced that it will start streaming exclusively on Disney + Hotstar from 8th March 2024. This means that the fans who were waiting for the web series with bated breath will soon be able to enjoy it from the comfort of their homes. However, it is important to mention here that a subscription to Disney+ Hotstar’s services will be required to watch the show on the digital platform.

The first look of Showtime was unveiled by Karan Johar back in December 2023 when he dropped the initial teaser of the web series by taking to his official social media account. Attached to the post, KJo also penned down a note that read, “Welcome to a world which functions on – lights, camera & action! Entangled in the power struggle, Showtime is a web series that will draw boundaries…only to cross them.”
