New Delhi: Bombay Begums is a story that revolves around five women across generations wrestle with desire, ethics, personal crises and vulnerabilities to own their ambition in contemporary urban India. And as each woman strives to find her own truth, they find in each other an unexpected understanding and the sliver of a bond.

It is very rare that any movies or show presents the physical challenges that women face. It always has been portrayed that women are perfect to the point of being unnatural. But bombay Begums have jumped all over it and showed some real emotions.

It is shown that for all her poise and grace Rani can’t accept the natural onset of menopause and neither do her female colleagues. Even though she experiences the physical symptoms, she doesn’t accept them.

Bombay Begums deserves complete credit for showing and bringing the light on sexual orientation. It is totally not being portrayed as a rebellion or an experimental phase phase because she shifted from a small town to a big city.

It is not a perfect show may how effort have been put by all the artist but it certainly nailed the brief when it comes on making strong characters.
