Sunny Deol regrets having feud with Shah Rukh Khan, calls it his ‘Bachpana’

Commenting on his relationship with Bollywood’s King, Sunny remarked that there are times when you finally let go of things that happened because you realize that they were nothing but childishness and shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

New Delhi: The 16-year-long feud between two of Bollywood’s biggest superstars Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan is hidden from nobody.

Post the massive success of their 1993 blockbuster Darr, Sunny and King Khan parted ways  and never made efforts to try to talk to each other for years

However, Sunny’s recently released actioner Gadar 2 finally united the two superstars once again as they forgot their past and engulfed each other into a warm hug right in front of the media and fans during the movie’s success party.

Sunny calls feud with SRk ‘Childish’

Speaking about his patch-up with the Jawan actor, Sunny Deol, during his latest appearance in Rajat Sharma’s popular talk show Aap ki Adalat, said that he and Shah Rukh have now moved past their differences and are not at odds with each other anymore.

Commenting on his relationship with Bollywood’s King, Sunny remarked that there are times when you finally let go of things that happened because you realize that they were nothing but childishness and shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

“Shah Rukh and I have met each other often, we have conversations about movies and he (Shah Rukh) has even enjoyed my movies with his entire family”, the Gadar actor added.

Where it all started

The recently ended feud between Shah Rukh and Sunny began back in the 90s when both the young actors were playing against each other in YRF’s psychological romantic thriller Darr. During the shoot of the movie, Sunny Deol was disappointed to see how despite his character being a protagonist navy officer was getting overshadowed by Shah Rukh’s character of antagonist Rahul Mehra, a random boy.

Recalling having a heated argument with director Yash Chopra about the same, Sunny, during one of his previous appearances in the same show, revealed that he asked the director how his character of a commando officer, which is obviously both physically and mentally superior to Shah Rukh’s character of a random boy, get outsmarted and defeated by him so easily?

“He can only defeat me when I am not looking at him. If a random boy is able to stab me right in front of my eyes then what kind of a commando am I?” Sunny wondered. In the interview, the 65-year-old actor further went on to say that the whole thing made him so angry and frustrated that he ended up tearing his pants with his own hands.

The new beginnings

Now, the relationship between the Darr actors is finally improving and both of them are complimenting each other’s success. In an interview with Zoom, Sunny even revealed about speaking with Shah Rukh’s entire family when the latter dialled him up to congratulate him for the Gadar 2 triumph.

On the other hand, when the Jawan actor was asked if he had watched Sunny Deol’s latest flick during the #Asksrk session, Shah Rukh replied, “Yeah, I Loved it! ”

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh and Sunny Deol continue to write history at the box office by smashing and creating record after record with their latest movies Jawan and Gadar 2. While Sunny’s Gadar dethroned Bahubali 2 to become the second highest-grossing movie in India, Shah Rukh Khan’s recently released Jawan wreaked havoc by minting over ₹200 crore at the domestic box office in just a matter of 3 days.
