Below is the list of five Tamil movies that can be watched on OTT platforms:

New Delhi: The move by OTT platforms to broadcast Tamil language content has given a tremendous boost to the film industry and content developers in recent years. Filmmakers and production companies are now rigorously working on gaining digital rights for movies, allowing popular films that do not receive theatrical screenings in India to access a broader audience base via OTT platforms. Aside from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and others, Indian OTT platforms such as Zee5, SonyLIV, Aha Video, SunNxt, Simply South, and many more have carved out a place in the industry with regional language content and grown their audience reach.

Below is the list of five Tamil movies that can be watched on OTT platforms:

1. Burqa (Aha Tamil)

Burqa, a Tamil language film, is portrayed as a love drama, but it also touches on various societal themes and matters that most of us can relate to. The official concept is “two strangers forced to spend the night together.” Through their chat, they grow to like each other and explore gender and religion-based prejudice.” Sarjun has co-written and directed the movie.

2. N4 (Simply South)

N4, written and directed by Lokesh Kumar, is about how simple actions touch the lives of so many people. The narrative focuses around the idea that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, as well as the relevance of the butterfly effect in all of our acts. Despite a less-than-popular cast, the picture earned positive reviews from reviewers.

3. Suriya42 (Amazon Prime Video)

Since the trailer was published, one of the year’s most anticipated films has been generating a lot of attention. The movie, which is portrayed as an action drama directed and co-written by Siva, is set in 1678, when a warrior dies due to disease, and a girl, touched by her beloved’s death, does investigation to find out what caused it. The film features a well-known cast, and because to its popularity, the OTT giant had previously obtained the digital rights.

4. Ponniyin Selvan 2 (Amazon Prime Video)

After a hugely successful first installment, acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam and the cast and crew are back with PS-2, which is set to hit theatres in April 2023. According to sources, PS-2 would follow “Arulmozhi Varman on his quest towards becoming Rajaraja I, the most powerful ruler of the legendary Chola empire of south India.” While the directors have not released anything about the picture, it is expected to be as spectacular as the first and to leave an impression among critics and audiences.

5. Viduthalai: Part 1 (Zee5)

The first installment of Viduthalai, directed by the legendary Vetrimaaran, will be released in theatres shortly. Jayamohan and Vetrimaaran wrote the screenplay, which is based on the novel of the same name. Viduthalai is an action drama about a police officer who gets hired to apprehend the leader of a separatist gang.
