Thalaivar 170: Amitabh Bachchan to join forces with Rajnikanth after 32 years

Thalaivar 170 will reunite the two greats of the Indian film industry after a long gap of 32 years

New Delhi: After wreaking havoc at the box office with his latest release Jailer, Thalaiva Rajinikanth is now gearing up to entertain his fans with his highly awaited actioner ‘Thalaivar 170.’ Even though the fans are already waiting for the flick with bated breath, its makers are making sure to take its buzz to a whole different level by making back-to-back exciting announcements about it.

While previously it was announced that the Thalaiva’s magnum opus will see superstar Rana Duggabati and Fahad Faasil in crucial roles, the filmmakers have dropped another bomb today by revealing that Bollywood’s Big B Amitabh Bachchan will also be a part of their upcoming movie.

Thalaivar 170’s producer took to their official Twitter (X) handle to make the announcement and shock the entire fanbase of both megastars. They wrote, “Welcoming the Shahenshah of Indian cinema Mr Amitabh Bachchan on board for #Thalaivar170 #Thalaivar170Team reaches new heights with the towering talent of the one & only Sr Bachchan”

Notably, Thalaivar 170 will reunite the two greats of the Indian film industry after a long gap of 32 years. For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth were last seen together on the Big Screens in Mukul S Anand’s family-drama hum that made it to the big screens back in 1991.

Although both the legendary actors went their separate ways after Hum and never did a movie together for years, they are often seen supporting each other’s films numerous times. While Amitabh actively participated in the promotion of Rajinikanth’s super hit sci-fi actioner Robot (2010), which also featured his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, Rajinikanth once called Big B ‘Sensation’ and ‘Superhero’ while admitting that he sees Amitabh as his ideal Guru and Inspiration.
