Netizens are lauded after watching the so-called garden-variety conspiracy thriller. Check out some early reactions from Twitteratis.

New Delhi: Randeep Jha’s movie Halahal shares the same subject as that of the recent SonyLIV series The Whistleblower. Both the movie has been inspired by the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh in 2013, which involved fraudulent in the entrance examination process and recruitment for government postings. The string of mysterious deaths of the people associated with the scam raised questions about the operation and left the conspiracy theory to the surface.

The Whistleblower begins with a distraction of a young man from privilege and success. Sanket (Ritwick Bhowmik) is a medical intern and the son of hospital owner Ashwin (Khedekar). Sanket is blessed with intelligence, charisma, wealth, and all other good qualities which enable him too soon across a low-caste politician Jairaj Jatav (Ravi Kishan). Jairaj aware of the systematic discrimination faced by his community decides to fill the hospital with doctors through corrupted means.

The series is written by Ajay Monga and Shivang Monga and directed by Manoj Pillai, the plot of the series develops through the nine episodes. Sanket is hardly alone in cynicism and is moved to act only when the situation gets out of hand. The plot takes a turn after a crucial character receives a death blow. Sanket’s attempt to unveil the mystery leads him to different places. He involves in a dangerous game with Jairaj which offers a high level of excitement to the audience.

Amid all the characters, two characters namely Sanket and Jairaj stand out. Ritwick Bhowmik single-handedly played the smug and cynical Sanket whose misanthropy extends to the two women in his life – the sisters Pragya (Ankita Sharma) and Prachi (Ridhdhi Khakhar). On the other hand, Ravi Kishan switches between buffoonery and menace showcase parade of venality.
