Tiger 3 worldwide collection crosses Rs 400 crore, Katrina recalls ‘grueling times’ of film shoot

New Delhi: Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif, on Wednesday crossed past Rs 400 crores in worldwide collections. Salman’s spy film released in theatres on Diwali and today it complete 10 days of its theatrical release.

The movie, helmed by Maneesh Sharma, has set cash registers ringing at the Bollywood Box Office yet again.

However, the Salman starrer film received a jolt on back of World Cup frenzy and it showed up in its earnings. The film which opened to about Rs 50 crores on its opening day, saw is Box office collection getting whittle down during the World Cup finale between India & Australia.

Tiger 3 grosses ₹400 cr globally

As the movie completed 10 days of its release, the Yash Rash Films (YRF) today shared a poster of the movie, saying that film’s India collections neared Rs 300 crore club while overseas collections crossed past Rs 100 crores.

“The highest grossing Diwali release in history [Indian languages] 10 days. ₹400.50 crore ($48.25 m) worldwide gross. India ₹298 cr GBOC ( ₹244.80 cr NBOC), overseas ₹102.50 cr GBOC ($ 12.30 m),” it said.

‘Tiger franchisee challenged me phyiscally’

Katrina Kaif, the leading lady of all the Tiger series, was ecstatic and elated over movie’s record earnings. Sharing her joy on film crossing new barriers, she said that she was overwhelmed & overjoyed to be part of the Tiger franchisee.

“The Tiger franchise has only given me love since 2012! So, it is an amazing feeling to have received so much warmth for over a decade now,” she said.

“Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and now Tiger 3 are films that have been a part of my cinematic journey and growth as an artist and it’s something that I cherish greatly,” she said.

Recalling the grueling sessions during film shoot, Katrina said that every Tiger film challenged her physically & mentally but the roller-coaster ride through the all three franchisee makes for a memorable experience.

“Each Tiger film has challenged me physically and mentally. Celebrating this success and continued audience support is priceless and the joy, respect and appreciation the Tiger franchise has given me will always remain cherished,” Katrina was reported as saying in ANI video.

About Tiger 3

Tiger 3 is one of big Salman Khan’s spy-action thriller movie, also starring Emraan Hashmi. The movie released in theatres on November 12 and mined Rs 44.45 crore on its opening day trade.

The movie is the third instalment in Tiger film’s list of franchise.

The movie also has cameo appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and a post-credit scene featuring Hrithik Roshan.

The first movie named ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ starring Salman & Katrina released in 2012 and was directed by Kabir Khan. The second franchisee named Ek Tha Tiger released in 2017, with Ali Abbas Zafar taking over as film director.

Tiger Zinda Hai, the final installment of Franchise, starred Salman & Katrina in similar roles i.e. RA&W agent Tiger and ISI agent Zoya (Pakistan).
